You will most likely fly into Monterrey, Mexico or Mexico City and catch a connecting flight to Hermosillo from there. Once there, we pick you up and take you where you need to go!
ENTERING FROM ARIZONA LAND PORT OF ENTRY:
Hermosillo, Sonora is a 4-hour car drive or 5 hour bus ride from the Nogales, Arizona (US/Mexico border). Those that fly into Tucson (TUS) or Phoenix (PHX) can catch a shuttle van from the airport to the border in Nogales, U.S. side. We can assist you in booking the van at no additional charge. The average shuttle rates are $25 - $50 USD each way. You will need to walk across the border into Mexico and take a cab ($15 USD) to the bus station, then take a bus ($40 USD) to Hermosillo. Bus fare is approximately $40.00 USD. This route saves you money, but it is a bit adventurous and definitely not for everyone.

ENTERING FROM TEXAS LAND PORT OF ENTRY:
Another option is to catch a bus from the border town neighboring Texas on the Mexican side and go straight to the airport in Monterrey (which is what I did). I took a bus from Matamoros, Tamaulipas at 10:00 P.M. and it took me straight to the airport in Monterrey, arriving by 1:30 A.M. Total for this was $45.00 USD. I was then able to catch my early morning direct flight at 7:00 A.M. for just under $100.00 USD, landing in Hermosillo by 8:00 A.M. There is a 1-2 hour time difference, depending on what time of year it is. The airport in Monterrey is open 24/7 so you can wait there overnight should you need to.
The airport in Hermosillo (HMO) is a 15-20 minute drive to the preferred hotel in Hermosillo. Although it is a small airport and fairly easy getting through security on your way back to U.S., it is advisable that you reach there with 1-2 hours before your departing flight. It is also important that you stamp your passport on the way out.
