The first step in  applying for a U.S. non-immigrant visa is to complete your DS160 application.   It takes approximately 90 minutes to do this.  After you submit your  application, you can move on to the next steps such as scheduling your  interview.   You will begin the application by selecting the location you wish to visit.

Each applicant for a U.S. non-immigrant visa must pay the visa application fee (MRV) before they can schedule an appointment. This fee must be paid in person at the bank in Mexico.  It is non-refundable and non-transferable regardless of whether a visa is issued.

You will then need to complete Step 1 - Pay My Visa Fee.

You will be able to access the reservation system calendar within 1 - 4 hours (generally) after the payment has been deposited in the bank in Mexico.  

Appointment dates may not be readily available in the very near future.  It is important that you keep checking back at random times during the day and night for possible dates that may open up.  The more you check, the better your chances are of getting your preferred dates.

You will need to submit your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) at the ASC Center.  This process generally takes 15-45 minutes.  No prohibited items will be allowed inside.

It is best to arrive 30-90 minutes prior to your U.S. Consulate interview, depending on the city it is located in.  

It is generally taking 1-5 business days to receive the passport after the visa has been approved.  You can track the status online and you will receive an email notification once your passport is ready for pick up.  

It may be possible to expedite the passport issuance by showing a return flight that is coming up.
